Laura Stevens-Brown

I am a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist with extensive experience working within mainstream schools, specialist provisions and client’s homes delivering high quality and bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention. My clinical areas of interest are working with neurodivergent young people and young people with learning disabilities (ages 2-25). Along with intervention, I also carry out holistic and thorough assessments and write detailed reports which can be used for EHCP applications.

I am passionate about use of AAC and I aim to ensure that each young person I support has a robust communication system that meets their individual needs. I take a person-centred and neurodiversity affirming approach to therapy which focuses on developing self-advocacy skills and supporting young people to express their choices, views, boundaries, emotions, and decisions through their chosen means of communication. I support young people to understand their communication profile and provide full autonomy for them to identify their own goals where possible.
